Andy McGill, Soke 10th Dan. Kenpo Kwai International

Without a shadow of a doubt, Andy McGill Soke has been my greatest inspiration along my martial arts path. Without Andy's guidance, enthusiasm and never tiring search for knowledge I would not, and could not have trained with, (and befriended) so many world renown masters from such a variety of diverse styles. I can still remember my first training session with Andy as if it was yesterday, and Wow was I hooked. For 20 years i trained and travelled with Andy. I first started travelling with Andy back in 1983 studying such styles as Chi-Ryu and Haka- Ryu under Jhonny Bernashwice Shihan, and Ki, Ki-Aikido, and Kijutsu under Dr Hans Von Rolbeck Soke. Much later i became Andy's uke until finally earning the right to teach as an international instructor on many of the seminars we were attending.

Andy McGill soke started his formal martial arts training in the art of Judo back in 1969. In 1970 Andy started studying both Aikido and Karate, also that year he started his training in Mich-Shin Kenpo under the tutelage of Okimitsu Fuji sensei. Over the years Andy has studied over a hundred and fifty different styles including Malaysian and Philippine arts. At present Andy holds the rank of 10th degree black belt in Kenpo and a 5th degree black belt in Hapkido. Andy has also achieved black belts in Tomiki Aikido, Ki-Aikido, Wado Ryu Karate, Judo, Budo-do, Aikijitsu, Zen-Shin Do Karate, Ken Jitsu, Goshin Ryu Jujitsu, Ki Jutsu, and Okinawan Ko-Budo. Now retired from competition, for ten years Andy was a competitor in both Judo and Aikido and has won medals in most national and area championships up and down the UK. Among his achievements Andy won a bronze medal in the European Judo championships, and he has been the all England Aikido champion.
